Stepping Stones are a registered charity and we need your help to raise vital funds towards the work that we do. Getting involved in fundraising couldn’t be easier, any of your fundraising ideas could support our services and the mental health of our communities across West Dunbartonshire.

There are many ways you can fundraise, from donations to events. Our staff team and our dedicated fundraising volunteers will be here to support you all the way, and they can help make it is easy and as ‘fun’ as possible for you.

Community Fundraising is when an individual or group of people with a shared interest collectively raise
money and also help to increase awareness and engagement of our cause. It typically involves organising
activities or events (either as part of a national campaign such as mental health awareness week, or by or a
one-off event like a coffee morning or bucket collection) that provides an opportunity to raise money,
increase awareness, reach new audiences and involve local communities.

Community Fundraising is anything from sponsored silences to monies raised by social clubs or schools. Stepping Stones can provide you with sponsor forms, resources such as our Afternoon Tea Pack, and branded materials.

We have a fantastic Fundraising Volunteer group – they can help you with your ideas or you might want to join them with their next planning and events?

Event fundraising can offer many opportunities to get involved in Stepping Stones. You can choose from
a wide range of events; service member events, community events or third party event (like Kiltwalk).

Whether it’s a summer fair, a coffee morning, a gala ball, a concert, or a sponsored walk (to name just a
few) events can raise awareness of our cause, our services, they can reach a new audience, and give
people a fantastic experience all while raising vital funds.

If you would like to take a charity place in a third party fundraising event such as Kiltwalk, Great Scottish
Run, Edinburgh Marathon, Zipslides, Abseils or Firewalks then contact our team who will advise you of any opportunities and procedures involved.

We can provide you with sponsor forms, t-shirts, collection cans, advice and resources such as risk assessments for your own events.

This is fundraising partnership with businesses, and it can offer many benefits to both your workplace, employees, our charity and our members. Together we can raise funds, share promotions, raise awareness, provide expertise and advice and deliver your social responsibility.

Stepping Stones can create different packages suitable for all types of businesses. Fancy a dress down day, a work bake sale, a team building activity or displaying our collection tins in your workplace? Perhaps you have stock that you’d like to donate as a gift or prizes? Maybe there is an event or activity you’d like to sponsor?

Individual giving fundraising is the process where Stepping Stones can raise money through donations from individuals, rather than from institutions or corporations. This can involve one-off gifts or regular donations.

At Stepping Stones we appreciate every donation, from the individual donations when someone donates monies or brings things like biscuits along to our groups, to the individuals who make a donation to us online, purchases raffle tickets, sets up a regular donation (like a monthly direct debit) or a donation via their payroll giving.

There are many ways you can make a donation:

  • Make a donation through our website
  • Donate via our Just Giving page or our CAF page
  • Call us to make a payment over the phone
  • Send a cheque to our office
  • Pop into our offices to make a donation in person

If you are in a position to make a regular donation then it can be monthly, quarterly or annually – whatever works for you – and for every donation you make it goes towards supporting our services across West Dunbartonshire.

We are here to make donating as easy as possible, and answer any questions you may have.

At Stepping Stones we know that loosing someone can be a difficult. We offer a Bereavement & Loss Peer led support group, and often our individual support services or counselling services are used to help someone when dealing with loss. A special and meaningful way to remember a loved one can be making a donation in their memory.

There are different ways you can support in memory of someone:

  • Making a donation in their name
  • Collecting at a funeral
  • Creating a tribute fundraising page

There is also ‘Legacy Giving’, this is when someone leaves a gift to Stepping Stones in a Will. These type of donations are often built on our relationships between a person who benefited from the services support and Stepping Stones. Leaving a gift in a Will is a way someone can feel able to give back.

Our team would be happy to help you with any questions you have about making a donation in memory.
