Stepping Stones Volunteer Wins West Dunbartonshire Unsung Hero Award

Well guess who won Unsung Hero Award at the West Dunbartonshire VIVA Awards?

Stepping Stones very own Mens Group Volunteer & Fundraising Volunteer- Mr James Reilly!!!

What a fantastic achievement to have been recognised as an individual who goes the extra mile to make people smile and bring the community together. James gave an acceptance speech where he didn’t recognise himself as the hero, he thanked his family and Stepping Stones for the support they have given him on his own journey, and he accredited the men who turn up at group every week as the real heroes!

Just 10 days after a heart transplant James was accompanied down from the hospital ward to the awards ceremony at the Golden Jubilee by his wonderful wife Karen, the fantastic nursing staff, and the very proud Stepping Stones staff members Elaine and Bronwyn

Well done James, the work you do to support men’s mental health is now officially award winning. We look forward to welcoming James back to Stepping Stones after his recovery from surgery.
